Welcome to the MISTER Center!

MISTER:  Men's Information Services:  Testing*Empowerment*Resources

is one of several programs offered at Positive Impact Health Centers. While the majority of services are focused on the needs of gay and bisexual men due to the nature of funding that supports MISTER and the mission of the MISTER program, women and straight men may also access many of the services offered at MISTER, including access to no-cost HIV testing, fee-for-service STI screenings and treatment, information on local resources, and linkage to HIV medical care for HIV-positive persons.

A variety of FREE programs and services are offered. Check out the links on this page for more information about HIV testing, STI screening, CLEAR counseling, RAPP and other MISTER services..

The MISTER Center is one of the most popular spots for getting a no-cost rapid HIV test in metro Atlanta, conducting over 6500 HIV tests annually! Have you had your test lately? If you are sexually active the CDC recommends testing every 6 to 12 months; and if you are a gay or bisexual man sexually active with more than one sex partner testing every 3 months is recommended.

Take control of your life -- take the test!

A: HIV testing is offered on a walk-in basis only, and no appointment is needed. All other services, including STI treatments and enrollment in PrEP and other counseling services do require an appointment. Please see the services page to learn more about scheduling an appointment.

Q: How much does HIV testing cost?
A: There is NO COST to you associated with receiving an HIV test, but the HIV testing service you will receive has an estimated cost value of $107.25.

Q: Can I get screened for syphilis, gonorrhea, Chlamydia and viral hepatitis?
A: Screenings are currently available for a nominal fee to cover the administrative and medical costs associated with screening. Please see the services page for more information about costs.

Q: Can women and straight men access any services at MISTER?
A: YES! While the majority of clients tested at the MISTER Center are gay and bisexual men, anyone over the age of 13, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation, can get a no-cost HIV test at MISTER and can purchase any of our fee-for-service STI screens or treatments.

Q: How often can I get a free HIV test at MISTER?

Your test counselor will inform you of when you need to return, and can even set you up with our free texting reminder service should you choose that option.
